Covid-19: Over a million students skip admissions in US; kindergarten schools see highest plunge

More than one million children in the United States did not take admission to schools, mainly because of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), government recent data showed. Nyt and Stanford University analyzed the schooling data of 70,000 government schools on 33 states. The conclusions show that 10,000 local public schools lost at least 20% of their maternal in 2020. The number of affected schools increased from 4,000 from 2019 and 2018, according to the NYT report.
Exposing the increasing disparity between the rich and the poor because of the coronavirus pandemic, the data analysis showed that most of the drop in admission occurred in areas living below or nearby From the poverty line, according to the NYT report. The average annual income of a four family in these areas is 25 € LAKH or less. According to the report, there has been a 28% lower decline in these areas than in the rest of the country.
The current pandemic coronavirus killed 4,293,530 people in the world. In the United States alone, 616,828 people succumbed to viral disease, while more than 35 million people have been infected.
NYT added that in the school district of Philadelphia, where most students already come from low-income families, primary education admissions decreased by more than 25% between 2019 and 2020. In addition to Philadelphia, Jackson and Honolulu were the main cities of the highest decline in kindergarten admissions
Kindergarten schools are optional in many US states. However, experts argue that direct kindergarten education is beneficial for children as in these schools, conditions affecting the physical and mental development of children such as autism are generally detected.
The report also assigned an online education as one of the main reasons for the decline of admissions. According to the research paper, there has been a 42% drop in districts where online education is complete.
