Afghan Woman Gives Birth To Baby Girl On US Military Plane In Germany
Berlin: A Afghan woman gave birth to a baby girl on a US military plane shortly after arriving on evacuation flights to Germany, the US Air Force tweeted on Sunday.
During flights from the staging base in the Middle East, the woman reasoned and began to experience complications, he said.
“The aircraft commander decided to go down to height to increase air pressure on the plane, which helped stabilize and save the life of the mother,” said the US air mobility command then on Twitter.
Immediately when landing at Pangkalan Ramstein, US military medical officers helped the woman free her baby on the aircraft cargo.
Mothers and children are then transferred to the nearest medical facility “and in good condition,” he said.
The recording issued by the US military shows the mother lying on a stretcher brought from the aircraft by US troops at the base in southwestern German.
A week after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan, evacuation operations from abroad continued under extreme conditions marked by panic scenes and despair at Kabul Airport.
Since August 14, around 17,000 people have been evacuated by the US, including 2,500 Americans, the previous US government said.
The US gets a green light from Berlin for several refugees to be directed to Germany, where it has a number of bases.
About 1,150 people landed at the Ramstein base on Saturday, where they were expected to go to the United States in a few days, a Pangkalan spokesman said.
